The Best Hand Dryer for Any Situation
There are a huge number of hand dryers available to buy, to the point where it can almost be overwhelming. The range that we carry at Intelligent Hand Dryers is purposefully expansive so that we can find the correct hand dryer for your situation.
But we know that the breadth of available hand dryers could be overwhelming, so we wanted to put a short guide together to help identify the best hand dryer for any particular situation.
Which are the best-selling hand dryers?
Let’s get started with some of the basics – at Intelligent Hand Dryers we carry all the main brands of hand dryers. We often find that certain brands are specified for an installation, and so we want to make sure we can cover all bases. In total we stock 21 brands – however we have found that there are hand dryers that we tend to sell more than others. The top 10 are:
- Dyson Airblade V Hand Dryer
- Dryflow BulletDri Hand Dryer
- Warner Howard Airforce Hand Dryer
- Dryflow Jetdri Mark II Hand Dryer
- Dryflow Ecowave Standard Hand Dryer with HEPA Filter
- Dryflow Slimforce Hand Dryer
- Dryflow Jet Force Junior Hand Dryer
- Mitsubishi Jet Towel Slim Heated Wave I01 Hand Dryer
- Dryflow Turboforce Junior Plus Hand Dryer
- Dryflow Turboforce Standard Hand Dryer
Each of the hand dryers in this list have their own strengths and weaknesses. Some are decided on because of the brand, others the style, but some are purely because of their technical capability.
What is the best hand dryer for…
Now we get to the key point of this article. Here we’ll look at the best hand dryers for your purpose.
Which is the quietest hand dryer?
Perfect for schools, toilets near meeting areas or where general discretion is needed. The quietest hand dryer we stock is the EcoSlim HEPA Hand Dryer with a running volume of 57-65 decibels. Which is about as loud as a noisy refrigerator. But this is one of many, each with their own pros and cons, you can see the rest of our quiet hand dryers here.
Which hand dryer is the most powerful?
High-speed electric dryers typically dry between 10 and 20 seconds as opposed to traditional dryers that could take up to 45 seconds and still not do the job! We have a fantastic range that have all been tested against our stringent criteria to ensure a hygienic dry in the quickest time. Topping the list is probably the Dyson Airblade 9kj, which has brushless motor and drying time of 10-12 seconds. Find more high-speed hand dryers here.
Which hand dryer is the most energy efficient?
Modern hand dryers are much more energy efficient than older models. This is because they use a powerful air stream to dry hands, rather than relying on heat – which took time and a lot of energy to warm the heating element. As we only stock modern hand dryers, it could be argued that all our hand dryers are energy efficient. But if pushed, we’d say that Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart Wave u02 has to be one of the best. See our entire energy efficient hand dryer range here.
Which is the best hands-in-hand dryer?
While actually being created by Mitsubishi, Dyson popularised this style of hand dryer. Hands-in-hand dryers (also known as blade hand dryers) are identifiable by their larger size and dual blades of air that strip water into the U-shape of the dryer rather than onto the floor or wall. Our favourite is the Dryflow Jet Force Pro HEPA, and you can see the full range of hands-in-hand dryers here.
Which is the best slim hand dryer?
Slimline hand dryers are perfect for when space is an issue, or when they need to be out-of-the-way, such as in accessible or wheelchair friendly bathrooms. However, we have also seen an increase in them being specified in non-accessible spaces due to their discreet appearance. One of the slimmest we stock is the Slimforce, a small hand dryer which as a depth of 100mm. Many of these sleek units are used for behind mirror hand dryer installations, another current trend in commercial washroom design. Find more slim hand dryers here.
Tap/over the sink hand dryers
A recent innovation in commercial toilet hand dryer design has seen hand dryers built into tap-like structures to provide over-the-sink hand drying. This is a great innovation as it allows all the excess water to drain into the sink and increases available space in the washroom. A popular model so far is the Dryflow Bi-Tap Hand Dryer, but you can see the full range of over the sink hand dryers here.
Which is the best recessed hand dryer?
These are great space saving models, but do take a bit more effort to install as you need to cut out a hole in the wall before inserting them to leave either a wall-flushed surface, or a semi-flush exterior. Out of our range of recessed hand dryers we like the Bobrick B-3725.
Each hand dryer has got its own individual strengths, and if you are deliberating on which model to choose, we suggest just giving us a ring. We have in-house experts that would love to help you find the perfect hand dryer for your situation. You can call us on 0114 3540047, or see our contact page.
