Find locations in Sheffield that will recycle everything from standard plastic bottles to mascara wands using the search tool below
Intelligent Facility Solutions are obsessed with reducing waste, whether its our passion for selling hand dryers that eliminate paper towel and packaging waste, our sensor taps that prevent water waste or our bamboo toilet paper that saves trees by using a faster growing, more renewable resource. The cornerstone of sustainability is REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE. We are clear that RECYLE is very much the last resort but it does make a massive difference if we can recover materials and not generate them from scratch.
We are excited to share with the world our recycling search tool. This is something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for the last couple of months with the aim to make recycling in Sheffield that much easier for everyone. And this was especially a priority with the comments and questions received on our Sheffield plastics recycling guide
This new recycling search database not only includes your usual recycling sites, but also TerraCycle points for items that are harder to recycle (for example – electrical toothbrush heads or mascara wands). And some of the products, mostly plastic, that supermarkets take back for recycling that may not be widely known. And it also includes charities that will take items that can be donated instead of recycled, and retail shops that have their own recycling schemes.
However, if you think something is missing then we really encourage you to get involved with us and the whole process. We want this to be an interactive tool that people can also contribute to and improve, so it’s always useful, accurate, and up-to-date.
We are also looking at possible sponsorship opportunities for groups in the community who would be prepared to take on responsibility for collectively recycling in their area. These could be existing groups or if you wanted to set up a new group in your area. If this sounds like something your group needs and would benefit from, please contact us via email.
Or you can contact a community of recyclers on a new Facebook group we have set up. A group that incorporates the community and collective action, and encourages people to connect with like-minded people and access relevant resources.
