Dyson Tap hand dryers were first commercially launched in 2013, Despite almost 10 years in existence, Dyson taps still feel like a relatively new invention, only found in very prestigious or high-traffic locations. In recent years, more tap hand dryer designs have emerged at much lower prices, this should see these types of dryers becoming the norm, due to their practical advantages.

We have a large range of ‘over the sink’ tap hand dryer dryers available to buy or lease. We keep dyson taps in stock and they are available on a free next day delivery. The Dyson tap and dryer systems are a single product, whereas the Dryflow systems are separate automatic soap, water, and dryer that can be configured to the customer's requirements. We offer 10% off any first order on the Dryflow Tap hand dryers and connected products.

What are the advantages of the dyson airblade taps?

Tap hand dryers are an ingenious concept that have several advantages over conventional dryers:

NO EXCESS WATER - water drains into the sink and down the plug rather than on the floor or into a drip tray.

REDUCES SERVICING - no drip tray to empty or floors to wipe

SAVES INSTALLATION TIME – If you add up the time it takes to install a separate tap and hand dryer and compare it with installing Tap hand dryer systems, then the all-in-one system represents a time-saving.

SAFER WASHROOM – Dry floor means fewer slips

MORE HYGIENIC WASHROOM – Excess water from paper towels and hand dryers can be a breeding ground for bacteria if not regularly cleaned

TAKE UP LESS SPACE – Tap hand dryers are a compact solution that requires no additional wall space

IMPROVED WASHROOM FLOW – Washing and drying hands at one station allows for better flow in public washrooms, less time is spent moving backward and forwards and users can keep a safe distance.

What are the disadvantages of Dyson tap hand dryers?

COST – It is necessary to install one over every sink, whereas wall-mounted high-speed dryers generally have a 3 sink to 1 dryer ratio unless is a very high traffic location. Potentially this may triple the number of units needed.

SPECIALIST INSTALLATION – Not all electricians are comfortable working with water and not all plumbers are comfortable working with electricity. Check your installer is happy or contact us for a suitable engineer.

SPECIALIST SINK MAYBE NEEDED – Dyson recommends certain sinks to go with their WASH AND DRY systems so they may not always be suitable for a retrospective install. Dryflow units offer more flexibility.

SPACE NEEDED UNDER SINK

Which is better the Dyson tap and dryer or the Dryflow system?

As with any question of this type it depends on a number of factors. Dyson tap dryers are the quickest to install and are very effective and robust. However, they are expensive and not practical in some locations due to the sink sizing and positioning. Dyson wash and dry systems are best when included in a new build or complete refurbishment rather than a retrospective install.

Dyflow tap hand dryers have the advantage of flexibility. They allow a dryer to be installed over a sink that already has an existing tap and soap dispenser. They have adjustable airspeeds so can be made quieter and also the spray is reduced for smaller sinks. The 3-in-one system allows for perfect flow in a washroom. Dryflow is also more affordable without compromising on quality.

How do you decide if Dyson Airblade tap hand dryers are right for your washroom?

There are a few questions you can ask:

1. What’s the floor layout?

Where does the washroom traffic flow? You will have been in a washroom where you are using the hand dryer and others are having to push past you to get in or out. If this is the case a tap hand dryer may free up the space you need. Alternatively, behind-the-mirror options may be a good idea.

2. How big is the washroom?

If there is limited space, it makes sense to consider a tap hand dryer, the extra space will improve the overall washroom experience.

Where are the sinks positioned in relation to the hand dryers?

If the hand dryers are far away it means trailing wet hands across the washroom creating potential slip hazards and mucky floors.

Where are the sinks located?

How far does the washroom user have to travel from the sink to the hand dryer?  You’ll have a few issues that need addressing. Will the person with wet hands leave a trail of water on the floor? The water could also go over themselves or other uses. This becomes a health and safety matter with wet floors and also an annoyance if peoples clothes and shoes are getting wet moving from one location to another.

Remember, if you are not going for a tap hand dryer system and instead installing a hand dryer over or near to a sink, then you need to make sure the ingress protection level meets regulations.
