Energy and resource savings
DELABIE recognise that water is a precious resource. Globally there are significant concerns about the water infrastructure and the ability to sustain supply for growing populations. Unfortunately, when left in the hands of the individual user it is hard to prevent wasteful practice. It is important that the products chosen for commercial buildings have controls in place. Average water consumption has increased tenfold in the developed world over the last 100 years and doubled in the last 30 (source: Centre for information about Water, France). Public and Commercial buildings have a 50% higher water consumption that domestic use. Representing 200 litres a day per person! In hospitals, due the increased amount of hand washing this can be as high as 500 litres per person. DELABIE specialise in low flow rates with their water controls for sinks working on 3 lpm and 6lpm for showers. Highly responsive automatic shut offs and an innovative split delivery system prevents waste. DELABIE WC’s have a 3L/6L dual flush with a 3 second flush. DELABIE mixer taps represent a 90% water saving vs conventional mixer taps. DELABIE electronic mixer taps require very little energy to operate thanks to the infrared active pulse technology. The IR beam is emitted intermittently, this saves energy without affecting performance. Battery operated models have an industry leading lifespan of 350,000+ cycles (typically 3-6 years). They take readily available, affordable and recyclable lithium batteries.DELABIE products help towards environmental accreditation schemes such as BREEM (UK and Holland). LEED (USA), HQE (France , BNB (Germany), ESTIDAMA (Middle East) and are WRAS approved for the UK market.
DELABIE Hygiene
Their mixers and taps have developed an anti-bacterial duty flush program. If mixer taps are not in use, water will stagnate and lead to an outbreak of bacteria. The flush system ensures that water is routinely pumped through the system when not in use. The taps have Infrared detection helps prevent the spread of germs by reducing touch points. The flow opens when the sensor detects the hands and closes when they are removed. DELABIE taps have ‘reduced stagnation’ solenoid valves. Stagnation frequently occurs when water is trapped behind the rubber membrane typically found in most valves. Their patented ‘piston operated’ system overcomes this issue. DELABIE flow straighteners are made from Hostaform®, which is highly scale-resistant, unlike conventional aerators. This minimises the build-up of dirt and water retention to prevent the spread of germs. DELABIE use PEX flexible hoses as they will withstand thermal and chemical shocks that can occur in commercial buildings and provide a preventative measure against the growth of bacteria.
Quality materials and sustainability
DELABIE specialise in high quality water controls and stainless-steel sanitaryware. The products maintain their integrity in high traffic, commercial locations, providing optimum hygiene and protection against vandalism. They are capable of withstanding heavy loads, chemical products, abrasions and scratches. The stainless steel used is 60% recycled content, which dramatically decreases the carbon footprint of each product and is fully recyclable. Advanced manufacturing technologies including cold pressing, TIG and laser welding reduce energy consumption. Stainless steel is also lighter than ceramic, reducing the footprint of transportation.
